What are eLearning credits (eLC's)?

eLearning Credits are ring-fenced funds supplied by the Government that can only be spent with Curriculum Online Registered Retailers on digital content linked to the National Curriculum, and a ll maintained nursery, primary and secondary schools up to and including Key Stage 4 receive eLearning Credits.

The money is distributed from central Government via Local Education Authorities to individual schools, which decide locally how to spend it.

For the year 2003/2004, £100million eLC's were issued to eligible schools , which amounted to £1,000 to each school and approximately a further £ 10 per pupil, so for example, a school with 1000 pupils would receive £1,000.00 plus £10,000.00, that means the school has £11,000.00 to spend on digital content such as Software, CD-Roms, the School Website package we offer etc.

EYE Focused Ltd are Registered Retailers and Registered Content Providers with Curriculum Online which means you can spend your e-Learning Credits with us.

Do our eLearning credits last forever?

The simple answer is no. You need to have spent your 2003/2004 allocation by the 31st August this year. USE THEM OR LOSE THEM. A ll the e-Credits that you have remaining will be lost, however, they have just anounced another allocation for the year 2004/2005, but that is not a good reason to let the eLC's you have left over this year to go to waste.

In short, if you have e LC's remaining by July or August, you need to be looking to spend them, or you will lose them.

How does it work?

The money should have been passed directly from your LEA to your Headteacher , however all teachers are invited to recommend resources for purchase.

You buy through your traditional routes such as catalogues and shows. Just look out for the 'approved' logo.

How can your schools spend them?

Spending your e-Learning Credits is a simple as 1 - 2 - 3

1: Contact your accounts department to find out your allocation of eLCs.

2: Decide on which product/s you wish to buy/part buy with your credits.

3: Then simply contact us to place an order and pay with funding from Standards Fund Grant 618, which is your eLC allocation. We will just require an official purchase order that states that the materials are to be paid for using eLearning credits.
