It is official…the all new, fully rebuilt version of our much acclaimed EDIT system is going to be launched at this years BETT Show.

We have been building websites for schools for 6 years now, and the latest version of our content management system is finally ready! we are going to be demonstrating the new system on our stand (P21, Gallery Main Hall) so if you would like to see it in action please stop by.

Obviously all new customers websites will be built around this system, but we will also be rolling this version out to our existing customers this year.

The latest upgrades to our very own “EDIT for Schools” package have now been released to all our premium subscribed schools. The package is ever evolving, and one of the benefits to being a premium customer of EYE Focused is that we treat the customer base very much as a community, so as schools request specific features they get added to the wish list and then all the other schools benefit from the additional features as they are developed.

So here are the details of the improvements in the latest release…..

• Multi Level Permissions, Users and Roles - Enabling you to allocate sections of the site to other people to edit without running the risk of them editing or deleting the wrong sections. You can create your own bespoke roles to suit your needs, such as Governor, Head of Year etc.
• Password protected pages - This allows you to allocate a password to pages and folders to restrict access to people without a valid password to view.
• New updated gallery creator - Allows you to specify sub folders and then link the galleries to the main navigation menu, the system automatically generates thumbnails and links them to the larger images.
• Drop downs menus OFF drop downs - Enables you to cluster similar links on your drop down menu together for example the main heading could be ā€œKids Areaā€, and the drop down could be ā€œCLUBSā€, you could then have the different clubs such as ā€œSPORTS, MUSIC, ICTā€ etc then dropping out of the side of the ā€œCLUBSā€Ā menu.
• Improved Navigation Editor - As well as the additional drop downs, you can now add links directly to other websites in the navigation, so you can link to your various VLEs, eLearning Platforms or even links to useful resources such as BBC Jam etc.
• New and improved security model.
• Multiple File Upload - You can now upload up to SIX files at a time rather than just ONE saving you time.
• Auto resizing of images as you upload them - All images are resized as you upload them, this will save you time, and potentially remove the likelihood of massive files on your website, which in turn improves your visitor experience.Ā
